KALIBARU

Kalibaru is a name of a small hill country village. It is located approximately 220 km from Ngurah Rai International Airport of Bali. It can be reached conveniently by road for around 6 hours includes a fascinating 35 minutes ferry trip across the Bali Strait from the island of Gods to the eastern tip of Java – the most beautiful and fertile tropical island on earth. 

From the west side, the closest large international Airport is Juanda Airport in Surabaya. It can be reached by either train or car. The journey takes approximately 5 hours and passes through constantly changing scenes of life in a tropical paradise, busy towns, sleepy rural villages, terraced rice fields, plantations, orchards, forests and happy people with their warm smiles. The road journey winds over the forested Merawan range, while the train passes under it via a historic tunnel that was built between 1902 – 1920 during the dutch occupation.

Margo Utomo in Javanese words means the “Main Gate”. It was created with hope and wish that Kalibaru will be the main gate for tourism in Banyuwangi. Where people will get to know better the uniqueness of this particular region in East Java.

Kalibaru surrounds with the beautiful scenery of Raung Mountain at an altitude of 428mtr above sea level makes the temperature is more pleasant than in the low lands. It is relatively cool at night.
